Beginner's Guide to Headshots: What to Expect and How to Prepare
If you do not have a headshot, then what are you doing? Whether you are an entrepreneur, corporate professional or creator, having a headshot is an essential part of your overall brand packaging. Generally, a headshot photography session might range anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour.
Before the session, have the outfit and background outlined. Depending on your brand, you might opt for professional (corporate) or streetwear (influencers, creators). It is recommended to do headshots indoors at a studio. This helps the photographer control the lighting. Storyboarding, even for a headshot, is recommended just so you have an idea of the creative direction and vision.
The day of the session be sure to show up to the studio at least 20 minutes beforehand so that you have time to identify parking. Bring any necessary props and a 2-3 light setup.
